The Certificate Theology, Ministry and Mission lays the building blocks of Christian theology by introducing subjects such as Theology, Church and Mission, Understanding the Bible and Discovering the Christian Tradition. It also starts to engage students in practical aspects of ministry and in some reflection on their own person and ministry.


Year 1

  • Foundations for Theology and Reflective Practice
  • Foundations in Christian Worship
  • Introduction to the Bible
  • Attend Teaching Week 2

Year 2

  •  Introduction to Church History
  • Spirituality and Discipleship [taught across years 1 & 2]
  • Evangelism in Practice [Input in Year 1]
  • Attend Teaching Week 1

Written assignments comprise the majority of assessment for the Certificate Theology, Ministry and Mission, and most of these are essays, but they also include other written assessments like reflective journals and book reviews. Students also have some oral presentations.

Frequently asked questions

When are the programmes?

  • Monday and Tuesday daytime programmes begin with breakfast at 9.00am and worship at 9.30am.Teaching starts at 10.00am and finishes at 1.00pm
  • Tuesday and Thursday evening programmes start with dinner at 6.30pm and worship at 7.15pm. Teaching starts at 7.45pm and finishes at 9.15pm.

Who teaches the programme?

The programme is mainly taught by our staff. In addition, we use a number of external speakers who are leading Theologians and Practitioners in their fields.

Is this programme available for international students?

We're sorry but we're currently unable to offer sponsorship for international students, therefore you would need to acquire a visa for the entirety of the course before applying.
